                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE A TRACT OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 2200
                   BLOCK OF CENTER STREET, BEING ON THE SOUTHEAST
                   LINE OF CENTER STREET SOUTHWEST OF SHALLOWFORD
                   ROAD, FROM C-2 CONVENIENCE COMMERCIAL ZONE TO
                   C-1 HIGHWAY COMMERCIAL ZONE.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                A tract of land located in the 2200 block of Center
                Street, being on the southeast line of Center
                Street southwest of Shallowford Road.  Part of lots
                1, 2, 11, and 12, block B, J.N. McCutcheon Farm
                Subdivision, as shown by plat of record in plat
                book 7, page 10, ROHC; being all of that part of
                the property described as Tract 1 in deed book
                3331, page 599, ROHC, which is currently zoned C-2. 
                Tax Map No. 148E-B-6.2 (part).
               
               
         from C-2 Convenience Commercial Zone to C-1 Highway Commercial
         Zone.
        
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED,  That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, as
         required by law.
